Held in Nowra for several years now, the local Al Anon District hosts this one-day event: "Spring into Serenity"

As in previous years, 2010 saw Al Anon meetings, an AA meeting, and then an Al Anon meeting with AA participation (alternating speakers). Alateen support was also on hand, to round out the day.

As in previous years, newcomers once again commented on what a wonderful day of unity, fellowship and celebration this is.

Q: What is Al Anon and Alateen?

A: Ours is a family disease. Al Anon and Alateen helps our families to get well while we do. Al Anon is for family and friends of alcoholics and Alateen is for young people who have alcoholics in their family. Al Anon and Alateen are 12 Step programs based on the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.
